Our story

Grove Made .Co + started in 2020. Our founder Jhohanna Gallego is from a small town located in the southern part of Colombia where one of the main foods is Arepa. I could eat arepa everyday, she says… which I pretty much do either for my breakfast or sometimes for my dinner. I prefer the traditional plain corn arepa flavor topped with some salty cheese. Our arepas have the perfect balance of corn flour, water and salt, just like the traditional ones made back home. I have an Interior Design background, so, my background of work with materials in this case transitions to be ingredients. I love colors, flavors, and smells, So having a traditional base from the Arepa basic ingredients, I have created, and with some creative input from my husband Dr. Mennie, Grove arepa.co has the combination of the North American variety with endless recipes, we have come together to create a mixture of many types of flour, cheeses, pastries, and jellies. This diversity of flavors and cultures are what bring us a modern twist to the traditional way to eat Arepas. Tradition, Health, Power, We combine all natural ingredients to form our unique food goddess.

We have a philosophy of balance—a balance of old techniques and new ones, of traditional ingredients and modern flavors, and of passion and skill.

I live in Coconut Grove with my husband and four dogs. I love to cook, wanderlust the world, Love Home Design and dance for sure!!
